Social Insurance plays an important role in the establishment of China’s Social Security System, including Endowment Insurance, Medical Insurance, Unemployment Insurance, Employment Injury Insurance, and Maternity Insurance etc.  According to “China Labor Contract Law” and “Social Security Act”, each enterprise shall sign and comply with the labor contract by providing social insurance for all the employees.   But there is no surprise that some employers fail to provide their workers with adequate coverage of legally mandated social insurance on the ground of various reasons such as the rise in labor costs and high labor turnover rate.  Such irresponsible and in fact illegal practices often lead to labor disputes which affect business development. To reduce risks of their supply chain, many buyers will strictly require their suppliers to take full responsibility of social insurance for their employees and comply with the related laws in terms of social insurance.

So what are the common requirements of buyers?  What are the rules of social insurance in China?  And what are the rights of enterprises and employees?  SGS Supply Chain Assessments & Solutions (SAS) will present a webinar on social insurance on May 29, 2014, helping you to maintain a good employment system.
