Transmac Awarded ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System Certification
In order to maintain a high level of service, Transmac has obtained the ISO Quality Management System Certification since 2005. It is the first bus company in Macau successfully gaining the SGS ISO certification.
"Enhancing bus services and driving for improvement” is not only a slogan, but the mission of Transmac, which has always been providing better service to passengers.
Since its establishment, Transmac has continued to invest for the better. In 1988, Transmac made an investment totaling 40 million to procure a fleet of large and small air-conditioned buses, making Macau the first region in Southeast Asia to provide public bus services with all the buses air-conditioned; in 1989, Transmac introduced self-service payment bus fares through insertion of coins into collection boxes in replacement of ticket selling on buses by a conductor, which enhanced social productivity; in 1996, the “Contactless IC Card Automatic Payment Collection System” was launched to further facilitate the public. In 1998, Transmac made a large investment for the introduction of low floor 8-meter double-door medium-sized Benz to accommodate the narrow and winding road features in Macau; in 2003, Transmac introduced interchange bus services, a new transportation concept in Macau.
In 2016, Transmac again invested heavily in buses with 3 doors, which were totally new in Southeast Asia, in order to effectively control the flow of passengers; the buses have built-in USB chargers in bus compartments for passengers’ convenience; diffused lights and LED reading lights in compartments, similar to those in aircraft cabins, creating more comfortable lighting for passengers; and adopted wood compartment floor to make passengers feel at home; work fatigue of bus captains was reduced with the introduction of adjustable dashboard and air-cushioned driver seat, improving driving safety. All those careful measures have been adopted to provide passengers with better service.
Transmac introduced built-in USB chargers in bus compartments for passengers’ convenience.
This year, Transmac has successfully obtained the SGS ISO 9001: 2015 Quality Management System Certification. Compared with the previous edition, the new version of the ISO 9001 standard not only introduces new elements about risk management, but also assigns the management responsibility to top management, providing Transmac with a stable core management requirement for long-term use in the future.
Transmac indicated that the awarding of the certification resulted from the efforts and support of colleagues and management of the company and was an embodiment of the requirement and commitment of Transmac to the provision of quality services.
