SGS In Hyatt Responsible Seafood Workshop
SGS believes we can make a real contribution to sustainable living. SGS Hong Kong has obtained an award on the Green Office Awards Labelling Scheme organized by World Green Organization (WGO). In addition, many of our services are directly related to sustainability, such as environmental standards and product safety.
It is our honour to be invited to the Hyatt Responsible Seafood Workshop on 9 April, 2015 at Grand Hyatt Hong Kong. Hyatt, the leading luxurious hotel group, is engaging in a major global initiative in partnership with World Wildlife Fund (WWF) to increase the procurement of responsibly sourced seafood at their hotels globally. We are pleased to share the market trends of sustainable seafood and introduce Marine Stewardship Council Chain of Custody (MSC CoC) Certification to their business partners.
MSC is the world's leading certification and ecolabelling program for sustainable seafood. There are 2 kinds of certification standards.
(1) MSC Fisheries Standard is designed to assess if a fishery is well-managed and sustainable.
(2) MSC CoC Standard ensures that seafood products from a certified fishery are not mixed with products from any other fishery and remain fully traceable during processing, storage, distribution and sale. It is applicable to wholesalers, processors, distributors, retailers and restaurants.
