Textile and footwear manufacturing has long been regarded as one of the most ecologically polluted industries in the world. Complex manufacturing processes and long supply chains make managing chemicals and meeting the zero discharge target challenging.
As the textile and footwear supply chains strive for the zero discharge goal, they must demonstrate compliance to the Manufacturing Restricted Substance List (MRSL) and Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) target for wastewater and sludge discharges.
The key to successful chemical management is knowledge, traceability and effective implementation of chemical management plans and risk assessments.
