SGS Academy BIM Coordinator Course

This course is RTTP eligible. Pay HK$3,600 only for a HK$12,000 worth CIC Accredited BIM Coordinator Course.

In 2017, the HKSAR Government decreed that Building Information Modelling (BIM) technology must be used in the design and construction of all major government capital works projects over HKD 30M from 2018 onwards, and the use of BIM technology in private construction projects should also be promoted. In order to meet the surge in demand for BIM personnel and training, SGS Academy was granted approval from CIC (Construction Industry Council) to operate a CIC accredited Building Information Modelling (BIM) Coordinator Course which is named “Professional Development Course for BIM Coordinator". This course is now accepting applications.

This CIC-accredited course indicates that its scope and quality has met the industry's needs, and is expected to uphold the quality of BIM training in meeting the industry's needs and the facilitate practitioners obtained certification by the CIC. 

The course aims at training up participant with the capabilities to be eligible as a certified BIM Coordinator under the CIC BIM Certification and Accreditation Schemes. Upon successful completion of the course students will be able to:

  • Understand BIM Concept, standard, software and relevant technologies
  • Perform major BIM Uses
  • Coordinate BIM projects and multidisciplinary collaboration for execution of BIM projects
  • Execute and administer BIM design integration and common data environment of BIM documentation

All Building Engineers or BS Engineers working for Building / Structural / Building Services Contracting Firms or those are interested in CIC Certified BIM Coordinator is welcome to apply.

Under the RTTP (Reindustrialisation and Technology Training Programme) funding Scheme, each trainee only needs to pay as low as HK$3,600/HK$4,000. Alternatively, trainees may also choose to apply for the CITF (Construction Innovation and Technology Fund) and pay as low as HK$7,800/HK$9,000.
