The new construction materials testing facility, officially entitled The Lab (Asia) Ltd, has been accredited by HKAS under HOKLAS for specific laboratory activities since mid-July 2020, to ensure material quality and safety for this enormous construction project. The opening of this fully equipped testing facility marks a milestone in the expansion of SGS’s construction materials testing capability and strengthens our competitive advantage within the industry. By leveraging our global network and joint efforts between SGS and The Lab (Asia) Limited, we are gaining trustworthiness from the construction and building industry.
The Lab (Asia) Ltd is dedicated to delivering best-in-class construction material solutions, covering wide-ranging testing, inspection and monitoring services for different kinds of construction and environmental materials. It is focused on providing precise and efficient services for builders and contractors and is committed to assisting with the development of this project by testing the following materials:
- Deep Cement Mixing (DCM) materials, soil, and rock

- Pulverized fuel ash (PFA)
- Aggregate

- Bituminous materials

It is also providing non-destructive testing (NDT) inspection services.
