SGS Is Accredited By CMA For GB VOC Standards
China Metrology Accreditation (CMA) or China Inspection Body and Laboratory Mandatory Approval, is a comprehensive certification and evaluation on the testing ability and reliability of testing institutions conducted by the Metrological Administrative Department of the People's Governments at or above the provincial level according to the provisions of the Metrology Law of the People's Republic of China.
Only third-party testing institutions which have been accredited with the qualification certificate can use the CMA mark on their testing report. The testing report with a CMA mark has legal validity, which can be used for the evaluation of product’s quality and achievements, and judicial authentication.
On July 3rd, 2018, the State Council of the People's Republic of China announced the ‘three-year action plan to win the battle for a blue sky’, in a bid to improve air quality. As one of the VOCs remediation plans, the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) and the Standardization Administration of the P.R.C.(SAC) have successively released several mandatory national standards related to VOCs, standardizing the VOCs test methods and content limits for coatings, adhesives, inks and cleaning agents.
On June 24th, 2020, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of the People’s Republic of China (MEE) published the ‘Key VOCs Management Plan in 2020’. The plan will vigorously promote source substitution to reduce the emission of VOCs and to require manufacturers of coatings, adhesives, inks and cleaning agents to prepare for the implementation of VOCs mandatory national standards. It is planned to supervise the key focus areas with critical pollution situation and the key enterprise clusters related to VOCs during the summer of 2020 (between June and September).
