A technical seminar “How Can You Prepare For ISO 45001:2018 Migration well” was organised by HKIE-SSC and supported by IOSH & SRSO on 14 October 2019. Mr. Thomas Ma, Project Manager from SGS Hong Kong Limited, was the keynote speaker outlined the differences, preparations and benefits that organizations should concern in order to migrate well from OHSAS 18001:2007 to ISO 45001:2018 before the deadline of March 2021.
About ISO 45001:2018
ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems (OH&SMS) replaces OHSAS 18001:2007 as the globally recognized occupational health and safety management system certification standard. The new ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems (OH&SMS) promotes a safe and healthy working environment to reduce occupational health and safety risk, prevent work-related incidents, as well as improve legislative compliance. Principal changes of standard migration
In the seminar, Mr. Thomas Ma highlighted the principal changes and key features of ISO 45001:2018, are the adoption of the Annex SL framework would help with alignment and integration of other international management system standards, top management commitment is required and encouraged to have risk-based thinking and process approach on OHS Management, also the importance of consultation and worker participation to preventing ill-health and injury.
