SGS obtained HKAS’s Accreditation for ISO 45001:2018 OHSMS Certification
SGS has obtained the accreditation on February 4, 2019 from the Hong Kong Accreditation Service (HKAS) through the Hong Kong Certification Accreditation Scheme (HKCAS) to provide certification service against ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) Management Systems.
SGS has been partnering with Hong Kong Accreditation Service (HKAS) to become accredited certification body on many different international standards. Apart from the newly accredited ISO 45001:2018 standard, SGS was also accredited on ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems, ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management Systems and ISO 50001:2011 Energy Management Systems. Being accredited by HKAS also means that SGS was satisfied to comply with the relevant local and international requirements in delivering certification services.
ISO 45001:2018 replaces OHSAS 18001:2007 as the globally recognized occupational health and safety management system certification standard. While it is similar to OHSAS 18001, the new ISO 45001 standard adopts the Annex SL high-level framework of all new and revised ISO management system standards. In addition, organizations that are certified to OHSAS 18001:2007 shall start the migration to ISO 45001:2018 before the deadline of March 12, 2021. You are therefore recommended to be prepared sooner for the migration in order to suit your business needs.
