The ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) Management System seminar was successful held by SGS. Our OH&S expert, elaborated on the key changes stated on the new version document, and explained how these changes impact different stakeholders.

ISO 45001 is the world’s first International Standard for OH&S. While it is similar to OHSAS 18001, the new ISO 45001 standard adopts the Annex SL top-level framework of all new and revised ISO management system standards. Learn more

In this seminar, our Product Manager, Mr. Anthony Ng had gone through the main content of ISO 45001 development process and the differences between ISO 45001 & OHSAS 18001. Mr. Ng reminded that for effective implementation of the standard, it is crucial that senior management demonstrate their involvement and engagement with the OH&S management system, through direct involvement. Examples of how this can be achieved include:

  • Include OH&S performance in strategic planning
  • Communicate the importance of effective OH&S management and compliance regularly
  • Directing employees to contribute to the effectiveness of the management system
  • Ensure that Top Management is held accountable for OH&S management system compliance

Attended by more than 80 participants, the seminar was well received by all the participants. The overall feedback from participants was that the seminar was well structured, very informative and they has shown their interested in learning more about the differences between ISO 45001 and OSHAS 18001.
