Mr. Stephen Leung, our Product Manager of Certification and Business Enhancement, was invited to be our speaker to talk about the changes of the revised ISO 14001, bringing new insights to the companies which haven’t completed their ISO 14001:2015 transition yet. He also shared case studies of his own audits to remind the audiences about the key points and pitfalls of the transition.

We are delighted to see enthusiastic audiences joining the event, a lot of good questions were raised from the floor and our speaker was able to provide immediate feedback for the audiences. Our participants find this event very useful, for this seminar provided a lot of insights on ISO 14001 transition.

As highlighted by Mr. Leung, the one of the main changes in the newest standard would be the adoption of High Level Structure (HLS) from ISO Annex SL. All companies should be aware of the change and make adaption to it. Incorporation of commitment to the ‘protection of the environment’ to environmental policy is another key changes required to be mindful of.

Other than sharing the various case studies of ISO transition, Mr. Leung suggested that corporates could conduct gap analysis before auditing, in order to discover findings before the official auditing and enable organizations to make amendments in strategies as soon as possible. In this way, the process of auditing could be further accelerated.
