The first ISO 22000 DIS Food Safety Management revision seminar was successfully held by SGS
Since the first publication of ISO 22000 in 2005, new food safety challenges have been faced by the stakeholders along the supply chain– bringing up a need for the standard revision.
The ISO standard is currently at the Draft International Standard (DIS) stage. This means that a revised draft standard is available to ISO members for public consultation and vote until 3 July 2017. The publication of the revised standard is expected by June 2018.
With the rising concerns on the updates in the newest ISO 22000, SGS has organized a seminar on ISO 22000 DIS Food Safety Management revision on 28 July 2017. Mr. Andes Mong, our Food Section Certification and Training Manager, elaborated on the key changes stated on the DIS document, and explained how these changes impact different stakeholders during the seminar. He stated that the main changes currently are the adoption of High Level Structure (HLS) and new risk approach, clarification of Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle and key terms in operation process..
The seminar attracted over 130 registrations and the participants were very eager to know more about the ISO 22000 revision. Over 80% of the participants find the content of the seminar useful and relevant to them and they look forward to seeing more information and trainings on the official revision of ISO 22000.
