So the enterprise should periodically follow up the latest information on top of the legislation. Such as the updated in the past season: ILO developed a new labor inspection app; The Ministry of Environment Protection Department released the 2014 status reported about environmental hotline “12369”; China Labor Bulletin states the number of labour disputes is increasing and etc.

1. International Labor Organization (ILO) has developed a new labor inspection app
The Labor Inspection System Application (LISA) is a tablet-based application that allows labor inspectors to instantly snap photos of violations and attach them to a digital report which can then be sent to an external database for analysis and follow-up. Sri Lanka has become the first country to implement a new labor inspection app developed by the International Labor Organization (ILO).  Several other countries in Asia have also expressed interest in using the app with their own inspectors.

2. The plaintiff won the first sex discrimination court case in China
In 2014, one college girl was rejected the job application because she is not a male. After several months’ trial, the gender-bias charge was found guilty so the defendant should pay the plaintiff RMB2000 for mental damage compensation.  It is an important step for female on equal employment right.

3. The China Labor Bulletin stated the number of labour disputes is increasing
In begining of May, The China Labor Bulletin stated said that there have been over 800 labor disputes in the country so far this year, triple the amount during the same period in 2014

4. The Ministry of Environment Protection Department released the 2014 status reported about environmental hotline “12369”
The Ministry of Environment Protection Department released the 2014 status reported about environmental hotline “12369” on 19th, May, 2015. The total number of cases in 2014 was 1463 cases, which 100% has been handled and completed. There are 1194 cases about air emission, 452 cases about water issues, 362 cases about noise, 65 cases about solid waste and 8 cases about project approval. After onsite assessment by local environment department, there are 1137 classified illegal cases, which is 78% of total, but 22%, which are 326 cases no reported incidents were found. The most reported industry is chemical industry, which was 28% of total cases; next is metal processing industry (15%) and non-metallic minerals industry (12%).The fist 5 provinces are: HENAN (174 cases), SHANDONG (149 cases), JIANGSU (112 cases), HUBEI (97 cases) and GUANGDONG (95 cases).

5.  HK raise Statutory Minimum Wage from 1 May, 2015
Since 2011, Statutory Minimum Wage (SMW) has come into force in Hong Kong. With effect from 1 May 2015, the SMW rate is raised from $30 per hour to $32.5 per hour.
