Sunglasses are now less a fashion and more a necessity, mainly for eye protection, because polariscope lenses can protect the eyes effectively against harmful UV rays, reflection and glare in our daily lives.

According to market researches, the demand for spectacles in China is rapidly growing; it reaches over 50 million pairs per year amongst China’s 1.3 billion people. Sunglasses production has shown it is one of the fastest growing sectors in the spectacle industry, especially in China. In order to fulfill the increasing conformity assessment demands of China’s Import and Export markets. Sunglasses regulatory requirements of QB 2457 & GB 10810.3 assure that specifications are met on your delivered products.

In order to ensure the continuous growth in the sunglasses industry, some regulatory requirements are already in place, most notable is QB 2457 & GB 10810.1, clause 5:

regulatory requirements (performance / quality testing)
Surface quality and internal defects; Optical performance of lens (vertex power and prismatic power) Refer to QB 2457, Section 5.1 – 5.2 & GB 10810.1
Materials of frames Manufactures shall not select materials that cause adverse irritation reaction under most normal use due to contact of frame and skin to manufacture frames.
Appearance quality Check appearance of frames visually without the help of magnifying glass or other similar devices, and the surface should be smooth and of even luster, without pocks, particles of φ > 0.5mm or obvious scratches.
Mechanical stability – tensile strength The frames without test lens assembled should be tested according to GB/T 14214, clause 9.3 and bear a force of 98.0N, and all parts should not be broken or come off.
Holding force of lens After the frames with test lens assembled are tested according to GB/T 14214, clause 9.4, neither of the lenses should wholly or partially come off from rim.
Resistance to ignition The tested parts should not continue to burn after 650°C test bar is removed.
Impact Resistance Test Lenses shall be treated to be resistant to impact.

Luminous transmittance ; Relative Difference of Transmittance ; Filters suitable for road use and driving in day/night; Spectral Transmittance; Relative visual attenuation coefficient Q of Recognition of signal lights; Polarizing Filters
