SGS Lab at the Permanent Aviation Fuel Facility Now in Operation
SGS Hong Kong is proud to announce that the laboratory located in the Permanent Aviation Fuel Facility (永久航空燃油儲存庫, PAFF) is already in operation. SGS Hong Kong is the sole contractor in the PAFF terminal providing testing services for the aviation fuel used in 750 flights that takeoff and land in the Hong Kong International Airport every single day.
The Permanent Aviation Fuel Facility (PAFF), which has yet to be officially opened in replacement of the facility off Sha Chau Island, is a single-purpose aviation fuel storage facility. Located at Tuen Mun Area 38, an industrial area zone used as a fuel depot, PAFF is managed by ECO Aviation Fuel Services Limited. The PAFF stores only one product — aviation fuel — which arrives by vessel and is transported to the Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) by submarine pipelines.
The PAFF project is a pioneering contract that demonstrates SGS’ innovation in the testing field and the company’s strong commitment to contribute to projects of public interest. The SGS Testing Services provided for the PAFF is a confidence vote to SGS’s capability in safeguarding the aviation industry of Hong Kong.
