SGS Develops New Footwear Fitting Service for EU & USA Markets
The fitting of footwear onto the correct foot is a highly skilled process requiring patience, knowledge and a wealth of shoe fitting experience. The shoe fitter’s knowledge and experience is therefore paramount in carefully assessing the foot to shoe relationship so that only the very best fitting shoes are approved.
SGS is proud to add the capability of issuing independent full shoe fitting services (adult and children’s footwear) for European and US end buyer markets to its footwear testing services. This new service, based in the UK is available to any SGS client around the world therefore providing end buyer market expertise throughout the footwear supply chain.
Through SGS’ partnership with Jack Brown Consultancy Services, SGS fit reports are accurate, informative and very user-friendly. Not only is the shoe fully assessed for size and anomalies prior to fitting, but the shoe is then carefully fitted onto accurately pre-measured feet so that the correctly sized shoe is always fitted onto the correctly sized foot.
Recommendations for fit improvement will always be given where the fit of the shoe is not acceptable or requires modification.
With the new fit assessment reports, SGS has added to its suite of independent third party services for the footwear industry. Testing, inspections, auditing, consultancy and training are available with access to very experienced shoe industry experts whose knowledge cover the whole manufacturing process including Lasts, Moulds and recommendations for improving ill-fitting footwear.
