Energy-using Products (EuPs) Alert for External Power Supplies
Commission Regulation (EC) No 278/2009 entry into force on 27 April 2009 set out ecodesign requirement for no-load condition electric power consumption and average active efficiency of external power supplies. Products fall in the scope of the Regulation must comply with the requirements otherwise they will not be allowed on the market.
Regulation (EC) No 278/2009 concerning the ecodesign requirements of external power supplies (EPS) is the most up-to-date EuP Regulation.
Two staged entry into force of the ecodesign requirements provide a timeframe for manufacturers to redesign products. Harmonised electricity consumption requiremnts for no-load condition power consumption and average active efficiency of EPS are established in order to improve the environmental performance of EPS.
