Is Your Candle Recall Resistant?
Several recalls have been made already the first 3 months of this year 2009 in the United States as well as in the European Community due to unsafe candles that have been placed on these markets.
The candles that have been recalled – are either not safe according to the national standards or have other safety hazards such as candles that are sold with food imitating shapes which exposes serious choking hazards for small toddlers. Even complying with the below mentioned standards does not mean the candle is recall safe. Further safety assessment might be necessary.
Other recall reasons are because of secondary wick ignition. Possible reason for this secondary wick ignition can be for example that the wick is not centered correctly or clubbing at the wick occurs during burning.
