Comprehensive Chemical Testing Capability for Batteries
Other than the existing battery directive 98/101/EC amending 91/157/EC and requirement from international buyers, the European Council adopted a new directive for Battery on 6 September 2006 which will repeal the original battery directive 91/157/EC.
This directive covers the batteries including: Industrial Battery and accumulators Automotive Battery and accumulators Portable Battery and accumulators
(Such as cell phone battery, Lithium ion battery, AA & AAA size batteries) The Directive aim at banning any batteries and accumulators containing over-the-limit hazardous substances on the market and monitoring and enforcing collections, treatments, recycling and disposals of waste batteries and accumulators in supplement of relevant community legislations on waste.
