Your First Step to REACH
REACH (EC) No. 1907/2006 (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization, and Restriction of Chemicals) is a forthcoming chemical regulation in the European Union (EU) with the aim to ensure a high level of protection on human health and the environment as well as enhancing innovation of green chemicals. REACH applies to all chemical substances which are manufactured, imported, placed on the market or used within the EU. After the regulation comes into force on 1 June 2007, companies will assume new and, in many cases, onerous responsibilities related to the chemicals on its own, in preparation or in article that manufactured, imported, distributed or used in EU. This will be particularly challenging for companies that do not have the expertise to deal with such complex chemical policy.
