SGS AWARENESS TRAINING ABOUT THE SUSTAINABLE APPAREL COALITION (SAC) AND THE HIGG INDEX

The Sustainable Apparel Coalition is a trade organization comprised of brands, retailers, manufacturers, government, and non-governmental organizations and academic experts, representing more than a third of the global apparel and footwear market.  The Coalition is working to reduce the environmental and social impacts of apparel and footwear products around the world.

The focus of the Sustainable Apparel Coalition is the development and use of the Higg Index - a suite of self-assessment tools designed to measure the sustainability impacts of apparel and footwear products.  The Higg Index provides a tool for the apparel and footwear industry to assess sustainability throughout a product's entire life cycle, from materials to end-of-life.

SGS - as a member of the SAC – is pleased to organize a free supplier awareness training about SAC and the Higg Index in Hongkong and Shenzhen.  As for Hongkong Session, this two hour training will be conducted by Dr Kannan Muthu(SGS Sustainability Consultant),the languange is English.  For Shenzhen Session, it will be conducted by Sophia Peng(Project Mananger ), the language is Mandarin and targets the textile industry.
