Introduction to Moisture Management

Comfort is a vital element of clothing, especially for sportswear. In recent years, it is popular to design garments with various properties of comfort; such as quick drying, fast wicking, high air permeability, high water vapor permeability and transport capability etc. A common technical term describing these properties of comfort is “Moisture Management”. There are many testing methods to measure moisture management of textiles. In this seminar, we will define the basic concepts about moisture management for textiles as well as introduce the common evaluation testing methods. In addition, we will also provide information of the common moisture management fabric technologies in this talk.
