Construction Factories and Industrial Undertakings Safety Management Regulation
Organizations operating a factory, shipyard, designated undertaking or construction contractor must meet the Factories and Industrial Undertakings (Safety Management) Regulation (F&IU) to demonstrate effective safety management.
SGS audits proprietors and contractors against the F&IU regulation. Approved by the Legislative Council in 1999 the F&IU Regulation came in to effect in 2002. It requires proprietors and contractors to develop, implement and maintain a safety management system applicable to Hong Kong.
In addition to the adoption of a safety management system proprietors and contractors are also required to carry out safety audits, or safety reviews, of their system.
With unrivaled experience in system certification we are your ideal partner to demonstrate F&IU compliance. To help you meet the needs of an increasingly global marketplace we have developed an audit protocol which combines F&IU and OHSAS 18001 into a single event. This saves your resources (both money and time) while meeting both domestic and international market needs.
Our audit process will usually involve:
- Preliminary discussion
- On-site audit
- Initial status review
- Follow-up visits
To ensure ongoing compliance and continuous improvement our experienced auditors also conduct periodic status reviews as requested by the customer.
Meet the F&IU regulation with a certification audit from SGS.
